Knowledge without experience is just information. I live in the same world you do. I grew up in an alcoholic home. I experienced divorce; integrating a large blended family; and drug/behavior challenges of adolescent children. I lived with the chronic illness of loved ones and I experienced breast cancer. I have been the primary caretaker of aging parents. My beloved husband died suddenly as did my younger (and only) sibling. I lost a step-daughter to leukemia. I have moved across the country three times and have made three major career changes. Your experiences are unique to you and no one has had or will have your exact experience. Through my own experiences, together with a unique blend of specialized training, I have learned what works. I look forward to sharing that with you as you create the life you want. My legal career in Maryland was interesting and diverse. I was a prosecuting attorney for five years before entering civil trial practice for five more. In between, I directed a statewide drug education program for the Maryland State Bar Association. During those years I authored a book and two Maryland Sate Bar Journal articles about alcoholism and addiction. Following the death of my husband, I moved to San Diego where I facilitated grief recovery retreats for more than two years. I owned two women's fitness centers. As a certified fitness trainer and a certified cancer exercise specialist, I helped more than 1,000 women improve their health and their lives. I hold certifications in hypnosis and neuro linguistic programming (NLP). I am a Master Results Coach and a member of the International Coach Federation. I returned to Maryland for two years where I completed 128 hours of mediation training and served as a mediator in the District Court of Maryland. At that time, I was also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and maintained an elder law practice focusing on end of life and estate matters and probate mediation. I returned to San Diego last year to continue that work and to complete my Master's degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling at the University of San Diego. My passion lies in awakening human potential. |
